The names Lu Castro and Danny Myers hold serious weight in the culture. Real heads remember when we had the pleasure of hosting Danny Myers on the Battlescene AHAT Wrap back in the Blog Talk Radio days. While BTR is a thing of the past, the receipts remain. You can check out one of Battle Rap’s most significant podcast episodes right here on YouTube.

The Lebron James of Battle Rap?
In this specific bout, we got a hungry Danny Myers—energy reminiscent of him battling Rum Nitty over a decade ago. But his performance opens up a massive debate. Danny is clearly a champion, having cut his teeth in AHAT to become their star before securing a comfortable spot on KOTD. His resume and win percentage easily place him in the “great” conversation. But does “great” equal “GOAT”?
Think of it like boxing: There’s Lennox Lewis, and then there’s Mike Tyson. Both are legends, but they occupy different spaces in history. Is Danny the Lebron James of this sport—a consistent statistical monster whose sheer volume of work might actually be hurting his Mount Rushmore case?
The Mathematics of a Legend
To determine GOAT status, we have to look at what the culture actually values. Historically, it comes down to three factors: a high win percentage, a resume filled with Top Tier opponents, and the “Less is More” principle.
Consider the stats:
- Danny Myers: ~18.5 Million views across 144 battles.
- Loaded Lux: ~38 Million views across just 19 battles.
Exclusivity creates demand. It is hard to average 2 million views every time you step in the ring when you are battling every other week. While Danny called out Lux years ago, that battle never materialized. Without a Lux or Mook on the resume to validate the volume, the “Bar God” is left in a unique purgatory: undeniably elite, but debatably the Greatest.

The Recap: Myers vs. Castro
Philosophy aside, let’s look at the tape. Lu Castro is a problem, but I don’t think he expected this version of Danny Myers. Myers showed up with the Terminator glasses and a clip full of rounds. The highlight of the night had to be Myers’ surgical “booty” rebuttal that completely deflated Castro’s “Pirate” scheme.
Danny fought through the angles and proved that experience and aggression still reign supreme.
The Verdict
Winner: Danny Myers. Score: 2-1 Clear. (Debatable 3-0).
